Three on the Tree Interview on KHMB

Three on the Tree plays a mixture of old country, swing, rockabilly and original tunes—all the songs you never knew were your favorites!  Dance, dance, dance at the best music hall in Half Moon Bay.

Three on the Tree started out as a guitar, bass and drums trio in the hills of La Honda, California in 2017. Freddy Deubert on drums, Noah Hall on stand-up bass and Jerry B Logan on guitar/vocals. All three members owned and appreciated vintage automobiles, so, the name “Three on the Tree” (slang for a three-speed gear shift on the column) was a name they could all relate to. A logo was designed, t-shirts printed, and monthly gigs were being played.

In June 2018, Helen Casabona joined the band on piano. A name change was considered but the band realized that keeping the name meant staying true to the band’s roots, it also made for great curiosity and conversation with fans and friends.

Another local La Honda resident Bob Kolb joined the band on lap-steel shortly after that. David Somers from Pacifica joined us on bass in late 2022, Gary Zimmerman from Half Moon Bay on Horns, Melodica, Accordion and fiddler Reid Fisher from San Martin.
