Mayor, Debbie Ruddock, explains why the City needs to put a Vacancy House Tax on the November 2022 ballot. She said, quoting the S.F. Chronicle, that in 2021 in San Mateo County 13.7% of residential homes were purchased by corporate and wealthy family trusts. In Half Moon Bay, residential home purchases by corporate and family trusts was over 27%.
