Redwood City – Want to help on the front line of democracy?
The County’s Registration and Elections Division is seeking candidates for numerous positions.
Election workers can earn $22.30 an hour to start as an Office Assistant helping with the run-up to the general election on Nov. 8, 2022.
Numerous other short-term paid positions are also available to help conduct a fair, accurate, secure and transparent election. These include:
- Vote Center Representative ($22.30 an hour)
- Warehouse and Field Technician $(26.37 an hour)
- Office Specialist ($26.77 an hour)
Several positions require fluency in English as well as Burmese, Cantonese, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish and/or Tagalog/Filipino.
Under the Voter’s Choice Act, Vote Centers replace traditional polling places. Vote Centers are open throughout the county for up to a month before Election Day.
All positions are paid: Even “Vote Center Volunteers” can earn a stipend of up to $280 for working on Election Day and attending a training session.
Other positions have immediate openings for office hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Anyone may apply for these important positions. The examination process will consist of an application screening based on the candidates’ application, followed by a departmental interview.
