For your information we will be out again tomorrow at Miramar Drive North-Bound between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:30 pm.
Yes, I understand that the traffic is being impacted by the tree work.
However, this was an emergency job that needed to be addressed as the trees were a hazard.
We had our normal traffic control signs out.
Normally we don’t use Message boards for traffic Control.
We did finish the job today at Frenchman’s Creek and will be out at the Miramar location tomorrow.
The City of Half Moon Bay was notified last week that there would be tree trimming/removal going on SR001 until Tuesday of this week, and they had put out information on this (edit: only on Instagram, not Facebook or City eNews).
It was on the Radio stations during their traffic reports. (edit: It was on KQED traffic around 11am today 9/13/2021)
For your information we will be out again tomorrow at Miramar Drive North-Bound between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:30 pm.
Thank you,

Yeah, the warning and scheduling could have been better. But they’re removing (some) of what could be fatal chokepoints during a disaster evacuation. In fact, we asked for this, here: https://www.coastsidebuzz.com/almost-progress-on-caltrans-wildfire-risks/
So nice of Caltrans to ONLY warn the residents of HMB like the rest of us MidCoast drivers do not even exist. They did really need to trim those trees, though.
This is frustrating to say the least. 1 hour to get from EG to Kelly Ave is unacceptable. Can’t they trim trees in a less intrusive way? Or do a better job managing the traffic? Get the cops involved.
