Rent Stabilization Enforcement for Unregistered Units
The City of Half Moon Bay reminds property owners that the deadline to register rental units under the Cityās Rental Registry and Rent Stabilization programs has passed. Penalties are now accumulating for unregistered units, and property owners are urged to register immediately to avoid further enforcement actions, which may include fines, liens, and legal proceedings.
The City made significant outreach efforts in 2024, including a free registration period in June and July, and mailing of multiple notices throughout the year, to encourage compliance.
