ENEWS. “In a joint meeting of the City Council, Planning Commission, and Architectural Advisory Committee, the City Council unanimously approved “Interim Objective Design Standards” for multi-family developments of two or more units in Half Moon Bay.

These standards represent the City’s response to recent state legislation (SB 423/SB 35) that allows for a streamlined approval process for qualifying affordable multi-family projects, which would bypass Planning Commission and City Council review starting January 1, 2025.

The Interim Objective Design Standards set clear architectural and site improvement requirements, in an effort to ensure quality design of multi-family projects in Half Moon Bay while the City works to refine and expand upon such design criteria in the coming year.”
