Our captioning service is paid for through Title IV of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a fund which established the Telecommunications Relay Service. IP Captioned Telephone Service may use a live operator. The operator generates captions of what the other party to the call says. These captions are then sent to your phone. There is a cost for each minute of captions generated, paid from a federally administered fund.”

This free captioning service is provided by ClearCaptions and paid through a fund administered by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). There is no cost to qualified individuals whose hearing loss inhibits their phone use.

ClearCaptions phone captioning service is only made available to individuals who are hard-of-hearing and have medically recognized hearing loss, necessitating their use of the service. To qualify for ClearCaptions products and services, your hearing loss must be certified by a qualified healthcare professional.
How Do I Get Certified For ClearCaptions Service?
To qualify for ClearCaptions products and services, your hearing loss must be certified by a qualified healthcare professional.
ClearCaptions accepts certification of hearing loss from audiologists and other qualified healthcare professionals. Your healthcare professional will be required to complete a professional certification form, certifying your hearing loss and need for captioned telephone service.
In addition, you must self-certify that you have medically recognized hearing loss that necessitates your use of ClearCaptions phone captioning service.
