FREE COVID-19 Antigen Test Kits Available at Our Half Moon Bay Library (and all SMCo Libraries)

PRESS RELEASE. From San Mateo County Libraries on March 11th, 2022.

San Mateo County Libraries has now received an additional supply of at-home test kits.

The County of San Mateo is providing these at-home kits for families in need for their use during the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing recovery efforts.

 

San Mateo County Libraries will give out a limited amount of free, at-home COVID-19 test kits for pickup beginning Friday, March 11 at all library locations.

 

At each pickup site, we will distribute two boxes of the antigen rapid tests (four tests total) per household while supplies last. 

 

Please note the libraries are not testing sites. The test kits are designed for home use.

 

No appointments are necessary, and tests are available on a first come, first served basis. Please contact our Customer Care if you have additional questions.

Regular Hours of Operation

Locations include: Belmont, Brisbane, East Palo Alto, Foster City, Half Moon Bay, Millbrae, Pacifica Sharp Park, San Carlos, Woodside and North Fair Oaks. The Atherton temporary library is currently closed and please see below for special Pacifica Sanchez and Portola Valley library hours. 

  • Monday-Thursday 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
  • Friday-Sunday 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM 

Please note: Pacifica Sanchez Library and Portola Valley Library have special hours.

 

The COVID safety guidelines at our libraries apply to test pickup.

  • As a youth setting, masks are strongly recommended for everyone indoors, regardless of vaccine status starting March 12.
  • Stay home if you are feeling sick. If at all possible, send someone to pick up tests on your behalf.

We understand our communities are eager for COVID test kits and we will do our best to provide timely supply updates across our social media channels. Please plan your library trip accordingly. All residents are welcome to pick up these free COVID kits. Neither identification nor a library card will be required.
