Skinny Hendrixx & The Earthtones is the next evolution in Skinny’s quest for musical transcendence. Inspired by his community of skilled instrumentalists, and driven by his urge to dig deeper into his consciousness, he formed the group in July of 2023 and it has been his idée fixe ever since.
The structure of the project allows Skinny to dive into the depths of his perspective and create his personal works in isolation guided by beats from various producers. His journalings are made whole through collaboration with singers and songwriters that give them their melodic hooks. Next, they’re passed off to The Earthtones for instrumentation and finally they are ready to be set free.
The result is the amplification of his innermost thoughts over grooves and riffs, rhythms and waves that one would be hard pressed to find over production alone. The fact is, live instruments just hit different.

Basically I find beats, write songs to them in my dark ass room, pass them off to the homies to make them catchy, then take them to the band to give them that live touch, then we play shows and people dance and it’s dope.
