Carmen Lundy is one of the finest jazz singers performing today and is highly regarded for her innovative musicianship and songwriting.  Currently on the Afrasia Productions label, Carmen is a 2-time grammy-nominated artist for her 16th and newest album Fade To Black, and her previous album Modern Ancestors, both for Best Jazz Vocal Album. These and all of her many previous albums have topped the Best Albums and Top Ten Albums lists on JazzWeek, Downbeat, and JazzTimes.
Lundy began her career in Miami while still in her teens and graduated with her BM degree from the University of Miami. Having performed with her brother, Curtis Lundy, and the likes of Bruce Hornsby and Jaco Pastorius, she then moved to New York where she has performed and recorded with such musicians as Ray Barretto, Kenny Kirkland, Mulgrew Miller, Terri Lyne Carrington, Kip Hanrahan, Robert Glasper, Geri Allen, Bobby Watson, and Courtney Pine to name a few.
As a composer, Ms. Lundy’s catalogue numbers over 150 published songs, one of the few jazz vocalists in history to accomplish such a distinction. Her compositions have been recorded by such artists as Kenny Barron, Ernie Watts, Terri Lyne Carrington, Straight Ahead and Regina Carter.
