In support of California’s community-based testing program
Currently offering testing for COVID-19 in California:
- San Jose (Santa Clara county)

San Mateo (San Mateo county)
- Lake Elsinore (Riverside county)
- Sacramento (Sacramento county)

Advancing testing and containment for COVID-19
Public health officials globally are working together to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. Expanding access to reliable screening is critical to containment efforts.
The Baseline COVID-19 Program is a collaboration between Verily’s Project Baseline and the state of California to expand access to COVID-19 screening and testing in areas with a high volume of known cases.
The Baseline COVID-19 Program is focused on:
- Helping those with concerns about COVID-19 to possibly get tested free of cost
- Enabling public health officials to target testing efforts

Now available: Guidance for establishing testing sites
The COVID-19 Community-Based Testing Guide is designed to help government officials, public health departments, and local communities establish drive-through testing sites, using the lessons learned from setting up and running the first California community-based testing sites. These guidelines also include instructions for integrating with the Baseline COVID-19 Program.
What’s involved
Creating an account
We ask that you create a Google Account or connect your existing Google Account to participate in this program.
Completing a COVID authorization form
To collect information and use it for COVID-19 screening and testing, you’ll need to sign consent and authorization forms.
Taking a screener
You’ll share some information about your health and symptoms based on guidelines from public health officials.
If eligible, get tested for COVID-19
Based on the COVID-19 screener and testing appointment availability, you will learn whether you qualify for free testing and where you can get the testing done.
Receive your results
Once tested, you’ll be informed via email or phone when your COVID-19 test results are available.

In collaboration with the California Governor’s office, federal, state, and local public health authorities, we are using these efforts to facilitate screening and testing people for COVID-19.
