Half Moon Bay, CA – Memorial Day is quickly approaching, and that means summer is just around the corner! With more sunny weather on the way, it is anticipated that many people will spend time in Half Moon Bay walking along the coastal bluffs, visiting the beaches, and enjoying local shops and restaurants. In anticipation of an influx of visitors, the City of Half Moon Bay offers some tips and reminders that will help keep the coastside clean and safe, and ensure enjoyable visits for everyone, all summer long.
When you visit the coastside, please remember:
- Carry out what you carry in. Do not leave trash behind. If you have trash, dispose of it in one of the receptacles near the beach entrance, or take it with you to dispose of at home.
- Small plastic bottles are prohibited on Half Moon Bay beaches and parks – plastic bottles must be 1 liter or larger. However, it’s best to bring along your own reusable water bottle.
- Alcohol is prohibited at all Half Moon Bay beaches and parks.
- Parking may be difficult. If the parking areas are full at one of our highly-visited Half Moon Bay beaches, you can take just a short drive and check out another of the many beautiful beaches along the coast, including these.
