National Night Out from NATW on Vimeo. National Night out is the annual nationwide community-building campaign encouraging police/community partnerships and neighbor-to-neighbor connections, making our neighborhoods safer, better places to live. On National Night Out, neighborhoods across the nation host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts, and other fun community events. Visit the National Night Out website for more information about this nationwide effort.
Here in Half Moon Bay, you’re encouraged to hold block parties or other events on National Night Out on Tuesday, August 7, 2018. And, you can get a $100 grant to help with block party costs! If you live in the unicorporated San Mateo County Area, they will waive permit fees, but they are not handing out $100 party money. But don’t let that stop you! Get together with your neighbors and have some fun. The City of Half Moon Bay encourages local participation in National Night Out by inviting residents to hold block parties and reconnect with their neighbors. We’ll help jump-start block parties by offering a $100 gift card that will help offset the costs of putting on a great neighborhood block party. This small grant to participating neighborhood teams can be used to pay for food, beverages, decorations, rent tables and chairs, or whatever their block party needs to be a success. Get more information by contacting Danielle Sanderson at 650-726-8281 or [email protected]. Ready to plan your National Night Out block party and get the gift card? National Night Out is a wonderful opportunity for Half Moon Bay residents to get together, meet new people, re-connect with neighbors, and just spend a couple of relaxing hours in an informal social setting. Getting to know and staying in touch with neighbors enhances neighborhood safety and well-being, and makes it easier for neighbors to look out for each other – and that’s great for our entire community. Depending on the number of block parties and staff availability, the City will try to schedule a visit by a fire truck or Sheriff’s vehicle. Most neighbors hold their National Night Out events between 6 and 9 pm. Noche nacional del vecindario 2018,
