The Safety Barriers Project is a large project initiated by Caltrans, which looks to implement pedestrian and bicycle safety elements along Highway 1 from Wavecrest Avenue north all the way to Moss Beach.

Topographic surveys have already been conducted.

This will be a great opportunity to ask Caltrans to address problem spots; the City Engineer will be meeting with Caltrans staff for in-depth conversations about our projects to make sure our designs are well integrated.

There will be an opportunity for outreach and public comments as well; there will also be an environmental review process; will let BPAC know when the document is out for public comment.

It’s a long overdue and necessary project; 2-3 years until construction starts.
