Upcoming HMB State Beach Restoration Events….Many ways to volunteer, Many ways to have fun and learn more about nature. For all ages.
The Coastal Butterfly was buzzing along the Coastal Trail on Saturday, January 20th, 2018. She came upon more than 50 people pulling invasive plants and plants natives. Connie Taniguchi hailed her as she was pedaling by. The CB stopped to get some 411 on the happenings.

“Park Champions holds HMB State Beach events on the 3rd Saturday morning each month. We focus on habitat restoration – planting natives in the winter, and removing invasive plants during the rest of the year. A free day use parking pass is given to volunteers, good for parking at all San Mateo Coastside State Parks. Tools, training, and gloves are also provided during the event. Registration is at calparks.org/volunteer.

These workdays are part of an ongoing habitat rehabilitation project at Half Moon Bay SB. This event will focus on planting native plants. Beach Location: Roosevelt Beach. All ages welcome with parent or legal guardian!
