The San Francisco Bay Area’s 22st annual Bike to Work Day is today, May 12, 2016 and will see 9 Bay Area counties helping themselves and the environment by bicycling to work as part of National Bike Month.
Did you know that more than 1 million Bay Area residents live within 5 miles of their workplaces, an ideal distance for bicycling?
On average, bicycle commuters lose 13 pounds in their first year of cycling alone. And compared to using a car it hugely reduces your carbon footprint. So there’s lots of reasons to get on your bike – it’s cheaper than driving, free (unlike the gym), and you don’t have to sit in traffic!
