Big Wave Project volunteers are gathered Saturday, April 17th, 2021, to install biofencing, which has environmental benefits; the biofencing will allow any critters on the land inside a safe passageway out. Today construction on the northern parcel begins!
This marks a new effort in the construction of the Big Wave residence on the Northern parcel of the land.
Once built, much of the land will be preserved for walking and outdoor events, allowing residents and guests to appreciate the natural coastal environment.
It is also a day to come together and enjoy the community for adults with special needs, who have been isolated during the pandemic.
The $23 million, privately-funded “intentional community” will help provide for an increasingly high population of adults with developmental disabilities such as Autism, Asperger’s, William’s Syndrome, Brain Injury, Cerebral Palsy, Deafness, Downs Syndrome, Medically Fragile, Syndrome X, Speech/Apraxia and other Intellectual/Cognitive Disabilities.
WHERE: 335 Airport St, Half Moon Bay. Parking is directly across, along the street.
