PRESS RELEASE. From San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office‘s Captain Rebecca Albin on NextdoorFebruary 14th, 2024.      Click for video  of vehicles slowing down for the crack.

“To those of you who call Pescadero home, or routinely drive through it, you may already be aware of a crack in the pavement, a couple hundred yards south of Pescadero Creek Road on Highway 1.

As some of you have brought it my attention, I wanted to share that CHP and Caltrans have both been made aware of it and Caltrans has said they are going to apply some sort of patch to the cracks, sounds like as soon as tomorrow.

In the interim, CHP, the lead agency for traffic on Hwy 1’s unicorporated San Mateo county, has put a patrol car at the location, to make sure everyone is driving through at a safe speed for the conditions.”
