Army Corp Changes Economic Benefits Computation from Only Federal to Now Include Regional, Environmental and Non-Monetary Benefits which may Help Breakwater and Sewer Plant

VIDEO. From the San Mateo County Harbor District meetings on Wednesday, August 21st, 2024 at 10:00am as a hybrid meeting. Public comment only in person or by email. Meetings are currently being  held in person at the SMCHD Administration Building, 504 Avenue Alhambra, Ste. 200, El Granada.

Harbor Commissioner and ex-Army Corp of Engineers project manager, George Domurat, reports on his meeting with the Coastal Engineering Research Board. The Corp is now changing how it computes its economic benefits for its projects. NED=National Economic Benefits will no longer be used to justify projects. The Corp will now look at regional, environmental and non-monetary benefits for how they justify projects.
