Are you passionate about helping older Coastside adults live their best lives?  Are you looking to work part time with a great team doing meaningful and engaging work?  If so, Senior Coastsiders has the position you are seeking.  We are hiring a full-time program manager to oversee our classes and activities and coordinate our volunteers. 

 

Position Overview

This is a long-term 40 hour/week exempt position worked mostly between 8.00 am and 4.30 pm with occasional evening and weekend hours depending on events and programs. The salary range is $80,000 – $95,000, depending on experience.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Program Management

  • Seek out, develop, and schedule a variety of classes and activities that are relevant to seniors.

  • Create, publish, and disseminate our monthly newsletter including new and updated content.

  • Coordinate the scheduling, set up and break down of daily classes and activities and occasional special events.

  • Regularly update information about classes, activities and special events on our website, social media, bulletin board.

  • Develop material to promote classes, activities and special events to the community using multiple channels.

  • Develop, maintain, and grow partnerships with other agencies to boost program variety and attendance.

  • Carry out general office duties.

    Volunteer Coordination

  • Actively recruit, screen, place, train and supervise volunteers.

  • Coordinate volunteers for daily activities and special events.

  • Regularly track and report volunteer activity.

  • Plan and oversee regular volunteer training and orientation.

  • Maintain an updated volunteer database.

  • Coach volunteers to improve their connection to the organization.

Organize and manage volunteer events including volunteer recognition and appreciation.

Qualifications and Skills

The preferred candidate should:

  • Be a dynamic self-starter who can work under minimal supervision to develop and implement classes and activities.

  • Be pleasant and like working with older adults.

  • Be an effective communicator with participants, partners and staff.

  • Be able to lead others and work as part of a team.

  • Be a solution-oriented problem solver comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

  • Be able to reliably commute to the Coast.

  • Be proficient in Google Suite (email, calendar, Drive, forms, sheets, and docs).

  • Proficiency in Canva, social media, and Constant Contact preferred.

  • Be fluent in written and spoken English

  • Be bilingual Spanish or Mandarin (an advantage, not a requirement).

  • Be able to work occasional evening and weekend hours.

  • Be able to move equipment, tables, chairs etc., up to 30 lbs.

  • Have directly relevant experience, preferably with older adults
