PRESS RELEASE. From the City of Half Moon Bay on February 2025.

The Half Moon Bay City Council wants to include youth perspectives on the Parks and Recreation Commission, which will benefit the entire community. To gain this perspective, the Council recently added two seats to the Commission for youth representatives, and our community’s young people are encouraged to apply to serve.

Interested persons are asked to submit a Willing to Serve form. Applicants must be residents of the City of Half Moon Bay, in grades 9-12, and at least 14 years of age. The Parks and Recreation Commission is a seven-member, unpaid advisory committee that typically meets on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 6:00 pm.

Willing to Serve Forms are available at Half Moon Bay City Hall, 501 Main Street, and on the City’s website. For specific requirements and additional information, please contact Assistant City Clerk Maggie Rodriguez at (650) 726-8266.

The deadline to apply is Sunday, February 23.

This is a great opportunity to bring fresh, youthful viewpoints to the Commission. Youth members will gain practical leadership skills while learning about the value of civic engagement.
