PRESS RELEASE and VIDEO. From the City of Half Moon Bay on August 17th, 2023.

 

 

The Pedal for a Purpose EBike Program is now accepting referrals for eligible participants. If you are a low-income farmworker, hospitality worker, or teacher and live in or within 12 miles of the city of Half Moon Bay, you are eligible to receive a brand new ebike!

 

The City of Half Moon Bay was awarded $200,000.00 from San Mateo County’s Measure W funds to create the Pedal for a Purpose ebike grant to assist with alternative congestion relief. Awards up to $5k for 35-40 recipients.  APPLY TODAY!

 

Local non-profits Coastside Hope and ALAS are referring eligible recipients for a voucher to be used at two local bike shops, Bike Works and Straight Wheel Cycling.

 

Vouchers will be distributed in rounds of ten and shall be used to purchase an ebike, helmet, and lock.  Also include “The Pledge” education on how to ride safely.

  1. wonderful, just remember they can’t ride them on the coastal trail within HMB city limits, or just maybe as a protected class there will be an exception perhaps a special sticker on the bike, one can only hope.
