Botanically, cannabis is traditionally known as the female plant and the hemp as the male plant.

The Open Cannabis Project

The Open Cannabis Project (OCP) is building a transparent and open source repository of cannabis data  that will one day grow into an archival record of all existing cannabis varieties. Let Lauren explain how important this in the face of big pharma. (LISTEN TO LAUREN AND JOE  on big cannabis pharma at 44:00 minutes). Did you know Big Pharma funds anti-cannabis and anti-marijuana campaigns?  If all cannabis data is open source, both the quality and integrity of cannabis can be protected.
