What do you think?  The Half Moon Bay Planning Commission will be reviewing the Coastal Development Permit-Architectural Review, for City-initiated landscape improvements near the intersection of Higgins Canyon Road, Main Street, and Cabrillo Highway South (within the public right of way).

The proposed landscaping improvements include: plantings of compatible plant species and trees, creation of minor contours, sidewalk improvements including pedestrian ramps, medians and refuge spaces, stormwater detention, and two new gateway signs.

Project Description: This project will provide operational and safety improvements to Highway 1 between Wavecrest Road and Seymour Street. It also includes construction of a signal at the Higgins Canyon Road, Main Street and Highway 1 intersection, and landscape improvements at the south gateway to Main Street.

Project Status: Design Phase

Funding Source(s): Measure A grant from San Mateo County Transportation Authority (SMCTA) and City General Fund

Latest Update: 10/19/2018 – Project construction anticipated to begin spring 2019.
