Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

ARTICLE. Since 5/15/18, Eric DeBode of Abundant Grace’s Coastside Clean Team has picked up 9,000 pounds, 485 bags of garbage in 51 clean ups! They average 185 pounds per morning. They pick up Friday, Sunday and Monday; before during and after the weekend.

Eric notes local neighbors contribute to the cleanup efforts in the area.

Abundant Grace hires homeless and low income people to pick up garbage on the Beach from Poplar to Seymour, the Poplar parking lot and the Coastal Bike Trail

They have picked up glass, pallets with nails, furniture, clothes, toys, cans

Two other problems need to be resolved for this beach area. There are 53 recent bonfires between Poplar and Seymour and horse manure everywhere, from the cliffs to the beach.

Eric will continue to work with the City of HMB. If you would like to help Eric, please contact him.

Eric thinks “Pack Your Trash” signage would help, and more State Park Ranger and Sheriff enforcement of open container and litter ordinances that are already on the books.

If you are impressed by Eric’s efforts, please DONATE!
