“Kandace has a voice that could melt snow.” (Prince)
Vocalist, pianist, and songwriter, Kandace Springs, first gained national attention with her 2014 self-titled Blue Note EP which led to performances on Jimmy Kimmel Live and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and an invitation to perform with Prince at Paisley Park for the 30th anniversary of Purple Rain.
While elated by these opportunities, she started rethinking her musical direction and gravitated toward the jazz and soul-based sounds of her Nashville upbringing. Her latest album (2024), Run Your Race, is a tribute to her late father, legendary Nashville soul singer Scat Springs.
Her prior album, The Women Who Raised Me (2020), garnered 5-star reviews from publications ranging from DownBeat to The New Yorker and won the Deutscher JazzPreis for best vocal album of the year. Springs debuts at the Bach with her ace all-female rhythm section.
