FARALLONE VIEW MODERNIZATION IS UNDERWAY

MONTARA, CALIFORNIA, OCTOBER 30, 2023 – Cabrillo Unified School District (Cabrillo USD) will celebrate the groundbreaking of the Farallone View Elementary School facilities modernization project at a ceremonial groundbreaking on Monday, November 13, 2023.

Cabrillo USD, in partnership with Studio W Architects and CORE Construction, has initiated early phases of construction on a $23.6 million, 22,120 square-foot modernization of the Farallone View Elementary School campus in Montara, California. The Board-approved Farallone View Elementary School modernization project will consist of a complete transformation of Building A (Administration and Classrooms) as well as Building B (Multi-Purpose Space and Classrooms). Modernization also consists of parking and drop-off improvements along with site improvements to the central courtyard and outdoor learning spaces.

Local voters passed two Cabrillo USD bond measures in recent years, Measure S in 2012 and Measure M in 2018, enabling Cabrillo USD to make critical repairs and improvements across various school sites.  Last year, the Cabrillo USD Governing Board approved architectural designs and construction plans for both Farallone View Elementary School and El Granada Elementary School as the next major district construction projects.

The Farallone View Elementary School modernization project will occur in two phases over the next two years to enable interim classrooms and other spaces to be available on site. El Granada Elementary construction is anticipated to break ground in the coming months.

“It’s exciting to see this much-anticipated project break ground,” stated Cabrillo USD Board President Sophia Layne. “With district-wide facilities planning in place and pandemic-related delays now behind us, we look forward to welcoming our youngest students and families in the Montara area to a more welcoming and safe campus for generations to come.”

Community members and media contacts interested in attending the event may RSVP to Holly Lynne at [email protected].
