HMB Planning Approves CDP for Construction of 0.3 Miles of the East-side Parallel Trail from Mirada Rd (The Barn) to Roosevelt

VIDEO.  From the Half Moon Bay Planning Commission meeting on Tuesday, June 13th, 2023 at 6:30pm (usually 7:00pm), as a hybrid meeting.

 

HMB Bike Master Top 10 Priority: CEQA for Pacific Coast Bicycle Connectivity North, East-side Parallel Trail, Mirada Road/The Barn to Roosevelt

The proposed project is development of an 8-foot wide asphalt trail (with 2-foot wide decomposed granite (DG) shoulders) to connect from the existing trail to the south and travel northward approximately 0.3 mile.

The northern end of the trail will join the San Mateo County Coastal Trail, (at Mirada Rd/ The Barn) which is just finished construction by San Mateo County and it will end at Roosevelt.

The trail route will include a single span bridge over the Roosevelt Creek and raised boardwalks where the trail crosses riparian scrub areas.

The Commission assures that new development is consistent with our Zoning Ordinance, Subdivision Ordinance, long-range General Plan and Local Coastal Plan, State laws and other public policies that advance the interests of our community.

  1. Always bemused by aerial images of HMB showing the leapfrog development characteristic of the worst kinds of urban sprawl. The bad development of HMB and all the ongoing social and environmental issues associated with was and is intentional.
