OWN WORDS. From coastal local, Janet Dudley, who is a member of the Peninsula Dog PAC: “Advocating for improved trail access for dogs on the Peninsula”.
In December 2021 Peninsula Dog PAC (www.peninsuladogpac.org) held its second annual Holiday Pet Food Drive at Stulsaft Park in Redwood City.
The Pet Food Drive was originally organized to help our Peninsula neighbors experiencing job and income reduction due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The community pet food drive was so successful that it is now an annual event with recipients across the Mid-Peninsula.
This year the Peninsula Dog PAC hopes to help those impacted by Covid as well as to keep beloved pets with fixed income seniors or low income families during these uncertain times of contagion, inflation and supply chain shortages.
PAC Volunteers delivered the first of four donations of pet food Wednesday January 12th, 2022 to Senior Coastsiders for its Pet Buddy Program.
In the next two weeks similar donations will be delivered to Coastside Hope food pantry, LifeMoves’ shelter and Safe Street Parking program in Redwood City and to the Street Dog Coalition at its January 30th free veterinary clinic in Redwood City.
If you are interested in volunteering with Peninsula Dog PAC or advocating for additional access for our canine companions to parks, trails and open spaces on the Peninsula, please contact Janet Dudley at (650) 454-0013 or Mark Eller at [email protected].
Approximately 40% of households in the Bay Area have a dog and only 7% of the trails in San Mateo County permit dogs. Tails Belong On Trails!
