Dear Half Moon Bay Community,
It’s well known that connecting with others in the community (virtually, of course) is something that really can make a difference in our attitudes, health, and well-being during the pandemic.
“Views from Home”: Half Moon Bay Photo/Video Project
To help with that, the City is offering a great way to share your story – our new “Views from Home”: Half Moon Bay photo/video project. It’s part of the City’s ongoing #WaveofStrength campaign to provide community support during the pandemic.
We want you to share your photos (or max 15-second videos) of what you’re seeing and experiencing in your day-to-day lives – for example, nature and the coast; something you’re doing to cope with the many changes we’re experiencing; interesting or unusual wildlife that you come across; a fun home activity that you or your family are engaging in; or whatever you feel is a representative snapshot of our “new normal.”
Send that picture or video to Half Moon Bay at [email protected] – we’ll post selected photos on the City’s web page, where others can see them, share in your experience, and maybe pick up some ideas for their own daily activities (please note that by sending a photo to the City you are agreeing to allow the City’s public use of that photo). You can also tag us on social media, and tag your photos with #WaveofStrength and #ViewsFromHome.
So much has changed in the last couple of months. Stay-at-home orders, face masks, social distancing, toilet paper shortages, distance-learning… we’ve had to adjust our lifestyles to cope with the pandemic. The community of Half Moon Bay has always been able to come together during tough times, and we’re doing that right now. Remember to be kind to one another and have patience, knowing that we are all in this together – and together, we’ll endure and become an even stronger community.
I’m looking forward to seeing your pictures of “Views from Home: Half Moon Bay!” We’ll be publicizing the web page where many of them will be posted, so everyone can enjoy another way to share, connect, and continue to enhance the bonds that make Half Moon Bay so special.
