San Mateo County Board of Supervisors Buzz Election Map
The SMCo BOS is composed of five members elected to four-year terms by the public in their respective districts (Find Your Supervisor’s District on the Board of Supervisors website).
SMCo Supervisors can run for three 4-year terms.
- D1 ~ (Dave Pine 3rd term ends 2024) Jackie Speier won outright in March 2024 and is the incoming Supervisor.
- D4 ~ (Warren Slocum 3rd term ends 2024) There will be a run-off Between Gauthier and Lopez in November, 2924
- D5 ~ Supervisor David Canepa won outright in March 2024 with no opposition.

Federal and State Offices
California’s 13th Senatorial District
California’s 13th senatorial district is one of 40 California State Senate districts. It is currently represented by Democrat Josh Becker of Menlo Park.
How long is a Senate term? The Senate has a membership of 40 Senators elected for 4-year terms, 20 to begin every 2 years. During his or her lifetime a person may serve no more than 12 years in the Senate, Assembly, or both, in any combination of terms.
Becker (Democratic Party) is running for re-election to the California State Senate to represent District 13. He is on the ballot in the general election on November 5, 2024. He advanced from the primary on March 5, 2024.
U.S. House Representative in Congress, District 16
California’s 16th congressional district is a congressional district in the U.S. state of California. It includes portions of Santa Clara and San Mateo counties, extending from the southwestern San Francisco Bay Area through the Santa Cruz Mountains to the Pacific coast.
The district is currently represented by Democrat Anna Eshoo. Anna Eshoo (Democratic Party) is a member of the U.S. House, representing California’s 16th Congressional District. She assumed office on January 3, 2023. Her current term ends on January 3, 2025.
On December 20, 2021, the state redistricting commission unanimously approved a new map of congressional districts, under which the new district overlaps largely with the old 18th district.[3] The primary election of June 2022 was the first to feature the new districts; however, sitting representatives reflected the old district boundaries until the general election in November 2022.
Prior to the 2020s redistricting, the district included Merced County, most of Madera County, and part of Fresno County. During this time, cities in the district included Los Banos, Madera, Merced, and most of Fresno.
Cities in the new 16th district include Pacifica, Half Moon Bay, Atherton, Palo Alto, Saratoga, Campbell, Woodside, and Los Gatos, along with the south-central and southwestern parts of San Jose.
Most of the old 16th district is now part of the 13th and 21st districts.[4]
California’s 23rd State Assembly District
California’s 23rd State Assembly district is one of 80 California State Assembly districts. It is currently represented by Democrat Marc Berman of Menlo Park. The 23rd Assembly District, encompassing parts of the San Francisco Peninsula and Silicon Valley, including Campbell, Mountain View, and Saratoga.
Berman (Democratic Party) is running for re-election to the California State Assembly to represent District 23. He is on the ballot in the general election on November 5, 2024. He advanced from the primary on March 5, 2024.
