Bring your own food. Or cook at the outdoor BBQ using the large communal counter and sink area. Or sit around the fire, after some exercise with warm food from the food truck. Great place to celebrate fun days like birthdays. Great place to take your out-of-town guests.
…to rinse and store your paddle equipment?
A couple rinse zones will provide an easy and quick way to keep your equipment in good condition. Containers will provide secure, 24-hour storage, free from UV light.
…with a hot shower for after your water fun?
Two modular inside bath/showers units will be provided, as well as a couple of outdoor showers.
…to listen to music and dance?
The Coastside is loaded with musical talent. The Coastside Beach Club will be a great venue for afternoon and evening dancing.

INVESTORS
What?! What’s the Coastside Beach Club?
The Coastside Beach Club will provide public access to Princeton Harbor at the location known as the “Old Boatyard”, two doors down from the Half Moon Bay Yacht Club, on Princeton Ave. The Club will specialize in paddlesports and fun.
The Goal is to create a privately owned park, with a public access mission.
The property is listed for sale at $1.4 million. There are two possible plans. First, the Donor Plan allows for the modest earnings of a paddlesport business and assures that the land will allow for public access in perpetuity. Second, the Investment Plan allows for less of a return than most commercial investors want; it is the price of helping the community to have this amazing access to the ocean.
Why all the publicity?
Both the current owner and an interested investor want to see if there is truly enough interest to make the Coastside Beach Club financially viable. The Coastsider Crowdfunding ad, this website, and the membership survey are an answer to their reasonable throwdown to “show them the money”.
We have some support.
Note that the Coastside Beach Club meets user permit requirements, and its minimal infrastructure improvements have already been given the general nod by Summer Burlison of San Mateo County’s Planning Department’s Plan Princeton Local Coastal Program review. The California Coastal Commission shares much of the jurisdiction of the harbor with the county, but is amenable to the Coastside Beach Club’s public access mission. Supervisor Horsley has also been very supportive of this opportunity to serve the public.
And we’re thinking into the future!
If the Coastside Beach Club came to life, we would not stop with the Club. The Club would support paddle races, events of all kinds, student paddle teams, fundraisers… The Coastside Beach Club will become a vibrant addition to our Coastside community.

Who is “we”?
Most of the “we” is me, Michelle Dragony, but there is a team of people who have explored this idea with me for the last two years. Many have answered my calls, offered their time and intellectual property as I have explored permitting and financing and the business plan. So the “we” is you and me. Coastsiders! 🙂
Thank you!
